Frequently Asked Questions

Why Cupping?

Cupping has been a form of therapy for over 3000 years and was original used to “expel evil spirits” from the blood. In modern day, it is used to help alleviate pain and improve blood flow and is used by massage therapists all over the world. We use the bruising left by the cups to determine where your areas of inflammation are, and help supply blood flow to those areas of need.

Why Scraping?

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (otherwise known as scraping) is a technique that is often misunderstood by the general public. It is not meant to be aggressive and unbearable, rather it is meant to apply stimulation to areas of complaint. This style of therapy is useful for those with a nagging tightness that never seems to go away, and will help open you up and free you from chronic pain.

How Do These Services Help?

More recently in 2018, scientists discovered the interstitium, a fluid system that exists between structural layers of the body. It is believed that ‘tightness’ and inflammation can be rooted in this fluid system, turning what should be a smooth flowing liquid into a viscous substance that renders the layers of fascia immobile. Cupping and scraping aim to return the interstitium to it’s intended state, leaving you feeling relaxed and mobile.

What Areas of The Body Do You Treat?

Just about all of them! I am a fully certified and insured practitioner in both cupping and scraping, which entails extensive knowledge of the human body and how to alleviate it of muscular discomfort. I offer clients full privacy and a professional setting where they can feel comfortable to be treated on any area of the body that they feel needs improvement.

Who Can You Treat?

I can work on all adults over 18 so long as they do not have any contraindications to massage therapy and complete the liability waiver. I can also provide treatment to young adults between the ages of 13-18 with parental consent and who also meet the requirements to be treated.
